Savoiardi are typical Piedmontese cuisine biscuits, used for the preparation of
the tiramisu (sweet well loved by the Count of Cavour) but they are also eaten alone with
zabaglione cream.

 

The history of the Savoiardi biscuits is very uncertain, according to legend, to welcome the King of France to visit, Amedeo VI of Savoy did cook by the court chefs a special cookies to impress the Kings. We are around the middle of 1300 and since that day the Savoiardi have spread throughout Italy and Europe thanks to the influence of the House of Savoy.
